Strathmore Receives Permit to Drill Sky Project in Fremont County, Wyoming

KELOWNA, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - April 30, 2007) - Strathmore Minerals Corp. ("Strathmore") (TSX VENTURE:STM) is pleased to announce that it has obtained approvals from the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Land Division and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to conduct drilling at its Sky Project located near the Gas Hills Uranium District in Fremont County, Wyoming. A drilling contract has been awarded to a Wyoming drilling company and all required bonding is in place. Strathmore will commence drilling activities in May. Funding for the drilling will be provided by Yellowcake Mining Inc. (Yellowcake), which recently agreed to provide up to $7,500,000 in development expenditures over four years to earn a 60% interest in the project (Please see Strathmore's news release dated April 10, 2007).

The drilling will provide Strathmore with geo-technical data necessary for the preparation of its license application to conduct In-Situ Recovery operations at the site. The drilling will further allow Strathmore to gather the required geologic, hydrologic and baseline water quality data to support its permit applications, facilitate well-field design, and evaluate additional property information. Mr. John DeJoia, Strathmore's Vice President of Technical Affairs said, "We are very excited about getting into the field and starting our data gathering efforts. The company will drill five wells that will be used to conduct hydrologic pump testing plus long-term water quality and hydrologic monitoring data." Mr. Juan R. Velasquez, Vice President of Environmental and Regulatory Affairs added, "We have been very pleased with the cooperation and support of the Wyoming DEQ and the United States Bureau of Land Management in assisting us through the process and are very appreciative of their professionalism." Strathmore has already completed the archaeological and cultural resources as well as the flora and fauna surveys needed to support the project.

David Miller, Strathmore's President added, "Sky is a great compact orebody with high permeabilility. The present drilling will collect additional samples for testing, amenability, permitting, and process chemistry. The entire team is excited about our efforts to advance the Sky project into production here in Wyoming."
