Stratus Launches Total Assurance Service Program

Root Causes of Server Downtime Can Be Proactively Monitored and Repaired Down to a Single Line of Code Within Linux, Windows and Virtual Environments


MAYNARD, MA--(Marketwire - Jun 16, 2011) - Stratus Technologies, the leading provider of uptime assurance, today announced its new Total Assurance Service program for Stratus ftServer® systems. The Total Assurance Service program delivers the world's most aggressive response, resolution and uptime commitments for business-critical Windows, Linux and VMware operating environments.

Stratus' Total Assurance Service program includes guaranteed uptime, with fault response in less than 30 minutes should an issue arise. As part of the assurance program, Stratus' Virtual Machine Root Cause (vmRC) option delivers root cause issue determination and a permanent fix for software issues that occur in Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMware and Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and 2008 virtual machines environments. The Total Assurance Service program also includes an unprecedented level of collaboration with other vendors that have products running on the customer's platform.

The middleware layer is software that proactively monitors more than 500 server components and sensors to identify, rectify and report faults before they can interrupt server operation. If a component needs to be replaced, the Automated Uptime Layer initiates a call to order the correct part for immediate delivery -- while the server continues full, uninterrupted operation. Customer replaceable parts are easily installed while the server continues to run.

The ftService offerings are built around proactive availability management, which is a combination of specialized technology and proactive monitoring by Stratus specialists. Stratus support technicians monitor ftServer systems over a secure global ActiveService™ network. Using system information provided by the uptime middleware, availability experts remotely diagnose and remediate complex issues 24/7/365 for Stratus servers anywhere in the world.
