Stratus Technologies Names New Sales Vice President


MAYNARD, MA--(Marketwire - Mar 14, 2012) - Susan W. Bailey has been appointed to the position of vice president, Americas Sales, Stratus Technologies announced today. A highly accomplished executive with more than 25 years of general management experience in the global information technology and communications industries, Ms. Bailey assumes responsibility for the company's direct and indirect channel sales operations throughout the U.S., Canada, Central and South America. She reports to David C. Laurello, president and CEO.

Before joining Stratus, Ms. Bailey was a principal at Corporate Solutions, where she provided consulting services focused on sales strategies, operational efficiencies, go-to-market modeling and channel and services business development. She also worked with the University of Colorado to align MBA students with job opportunities at major global employers. Prior to that, she served in a number of senior executive positions at Avaya, Inc., including vice president of Global Product Support Solutions, vice president of Global Strategic Accounts, Systems Integrators and Service Providers, and vice president of Americas Sales, Global Accounts & Channels. Her senior management experience extends to executive-level positions in the data storage industry at Storage Technology Corporation (now Oracle-Sun Storage); value-added reseller En Pointe Technologies, Inc. for which she served as president; and Intelligent Electronics, Inc., a $3.6 billion provider of IT products and services to Fortune 500 corporations prior to its acquisition by Ingram Micro. She began her career with IBM, where she held sales and marketing positions of increasing responsibility during her 13-year career there.

Ms. Bailey earned a Bachelor of Science degree at UCLA, and she attended the INSEAD Executive Management Institute in Fontainebleau, France. She serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations.
