Street Hockey Canada and the Red Cross Team Up to Help Flood Victims

Street Hockey Canada Donates Proceeds from their Canada Day Tournament to the Canadian Red Cross for Alberta Flood Victims Attention: Arts/Entertainment Editor, City Editor, Environment Editor, News Editor, Sports Editor CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - June 22, 2005) - Street Hockey Canada is pitching in to help flood victims throughout Alberta. Proceeds from their popular Canada Day tournament will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross in support.

The tournament takes place on Friday July 1, 2005 at the WillowRidge Community Centre in South-Calgary and will run all day (10:00AM-6:00PM). The day of fun will bring Canadians together on their country's birthday while playing it's favourite sport: hockey. The 3 vs. 3 games will played on foot and are open to all genders and ages. A competitive division is available for the more skilled players while a recreational/junior division exists for those who just want to have a good time and show their support. Co-ed as well as all-girl teams are more than welcome; it's all about having fun.

There will be prizes for winners, door prizes throughout the day, BBQ'd food, beverages and a live DJ. Spectators are welcome and encouraged to come out and enjoy the day.
