String of Games Launches Towerful, a Tower Defense Game on iOS App Store

SAN CARLOS, CA--(Marketwired - Mar 14, 2014) - String of Games, an independent game studio, today announced the launch of Towerful on the iOS App Store.

Towerful offers a new take on tower defense games by adding offensive elements and innovative gameplay on the iPad. The player's mission is to build a chain of towers to reach the enemy towerbase while taking out enemy towers that launch lasers, tesla beams, rockets and fireballs as well as mining towers, communication towers, defense orbs and flying saucers. The challenge is to complete each mission within a limited amount of time and with limited resources. Towerful features a tutorial, 15 game maps and a final battle map enhanced with exciting visuals such as storm clouds and hail. Original sound effects and music drive the game and offer a thrilling, immersive experience.

Towerful is available as a 99 cents download. To preview the app, please visit the webpage at

"We set out to make a game that is both a tower offense game and a tower defense game at the same time," explained Mitchell Yu, Vice-President of Game Design. "Towerful lets you build your towers anywhere next to another tower of yours. The enemy can, too. Also, the position of your towers are not locked into a grid. Like most tower defense games, the towers fight on their own, but you can also press down on your towers to generate extra force fields for more firepower and to disrupt the flying saucers."

"We spent several weeks writing electronic music for Towerful to make the game more exciting," added Trenton Yu, Vice-President of Quality Assurance. "The boss level even has its own theme song!"

"We hope everyone will try our game and give us feedback so we can add more missions or even make a sequel," said the two brothers.

Launched in 2013, String of Games is an independent game studio focused on creating original games. Three questions -- Is it original? Is it innovative? Is it imaginative? -- drive the company's mission. Towerful was conceived and designed by 12 year-old Mitchell Yu and 9 year-old Trenton Yu and developed for the iOS platform by String of Games and HipWidgits.
