The Strive Group Appoints Pam Horine as Director of Quality and Continuous Improvement

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Aug 10, 2011) - The Strive Group, an integrated merchandising supply chain company servicing the retail and consumer packaged goods sector, today announced that Pam Horine has joined the company in the role of Director of Quality and Continuous Improvement. She is charged with ensuring the company exceeds clients' expectations by delivering quality solutions that strictly adhere to the company's industry-leading processes. She will also continually work across the organization to identify areas for improvement and put procedures in place to cut costs, increase efficiencies and accelerate time to market, among others.

Horine brings a unique skill set to The Strive Group that includes expertise in quality control, engineering and management. Most notably, she has been certified in several disciplines by the American Society for Quality (ASQ), the leading authority on quality in all fields, organizations, and industries. These include formal recognition as a Quality Engineer, as well as a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, the business management strategy of improving the quality of process outputs by identifying and removing the causes of errors and minimizing variability in manufacturing and business processes.

"We take great pride in delivering superior solutions to our clients, and living up to that promise requires close attention to every last detail, at all times," said Jeff Sharfstein, CEO, The Strive Group. "Pam has the knowledge and experience to ensure we do this, while at the same time maximizing every dollar our clients spend across the integrated merchandising supply chain. We are pleased to have her join our team."

Prior to joining The Strive Group, Horine spent 12 years at Sonoco Products Company, a global manufacturer of consumer and industrial packaging as Technology Manager, Primary Materials Group. In this role, she led scientists and engineers in the development of new products and regulatory compliance issues related to FDA requirements. During her tenure at Sonoco, Horine also held positions as a senior development engineer, plant manager and process improvement manager. Prior to Sonoco, Pam worked as a process engineer and superintendent with Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) and at Fort James Corp., a manufacturer of paper products.

"The Strive Group operates like a well-oiled machine to connect the world's biggest brands with shoppers," said Horine. "But even the best processes can be improved and quality must always be top-of-mind. I'm pleased to be joining an organization that is always looking to strengthen its offerings and processes and am confident I will play a major role in ensuring Strive does so on an ongoing basis."

Horine, who will work out of the company's Chicago headquarters with regular visits to all of the company's sites, graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1983 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. She also earned her graduate degree from the University of Idaho.

About The Strive Group
The Strive Group's Integrated Merchandising Supply Chain (IMSC) model is a business process that compresses the merchandising supply chain to a "just in time" delivery model. IMSC encompasses the full spectrum of sales, marketing, operations, transportation, finance and procurement, aligning goals and linking teams. The Strive Group's IMSC commercialization execution model gives customers a complete understanding of the total cost of ownership (TCO); an accurate measurement of the return on merchandising investment (ROMI); and a faster time-to-market for their products. The Strive Group enables customers to reduce or eliminate obsolete materials, control inventory management, better deploy internal resources and significantly enhance service levels internally and externally.
