Strong Financial Results Allows Blackfoot to Distribute $1.3 Million Back to Member-Owners for 2012

MISSOULA, MT--(Marketwire - Apr 17, 2012) - Blackfoot is pleased to announce that the Cooperative's continued strong performance results recently allowed the company to mail more than 18,500 checks to member-owners in 22 Western Montana communities. The checks represent a $1.3 million capital credit distribution authorized by the Board of Trustees and help bring money back into local homes and community businesses. Capital credit returns are part of each member's total ownership interest. Each member builds an ownership interest through time and purchases and the Cooperative returns part of this investment back to each member.

"Our members make Blackfoot strong and we are pleased to recognize their continued trust and commitment," said Bill Squires, Blackfoot's newly appointed Chief Executive Officer. "I'm proud that our financial results have remained steady over the past decade and allow us to reward members each year with capital credit checks, free technology and educational opportunities, community support dollars and more."

All Blackfoot Telephone Cooperative member-owners are encouraged to attend the Annual Meeting to recognize our shared success and help plan our future. This year's meeting will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, at the University of Montana in the University Center. The meeting will celebrate the company's solid financial performance and Blackfoot's 39 college scholarship winners. Member-owners will also have a voice by electing the Board of Trustees and will be rewarded with gifts and cash raffle prizes. The Board will also pay tribute to Joan Mandeville, Blackfoot's former CEO who lost her battle with cancer in early 2012.

This year's capital credit distribution by community is as follows:
Alberton $26,568; Alberton South $11,390; Alta $13,937; Arlee $130,612; Avon $35,633; Charlo $99,451; Clinton $73,203; Condon $77,825; Dixon $20,059; Drummond $32,890; Haugan $7,883; Noxon $44,983; Ovando $44,395; Plains $90,167; Philipsburg $48,147; Potomac $75,900; Powell, ID $7,930; Seeley Lake $139,378; St. Ignatius $153,568; St. Regis $19,329; Superior $54,795; and Thompson Falls $127,602.
