Strong September Sales for Volkswagen Canada

AJAX, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 2, 2012) - During the month of September, Volkswagen Canada celebrated its 60^th anniversary. The celebrations continued at the end of month, as the company reported its best sales results ever. A total of 5,468 cars and light trucks were delivered by the company's 136 dealers, representing an 18% increase over the same month last year (4,630). Year-to-date, Volkswagen is also on pace for an annual record, having sold 44,919 vehicles, as compared to 40,396 in the same time period last year, an 11% improvement.

The month of October will mark the arrival of the new 2013 models, including the recently redesigned Beetle, which will now be available with the TDI Clean Diesel engine. Also available on the Jetta, Golf, Golf Wagon, Passat and Touareg models, these engines are but one example of Volkswagen's "Bluemotion Technologies," and part of Volkswagen's worldwide "Think Blue" environmental stewardship initiative.

The 2013 versions of the top-selling Jetta and Passat models have both had their value equations enhanced with more standard features and lower prices. The Jetta will now be available from just $14,990, almost $900 less than last year's model.
