Strong Support for Francophone Parents in New Brunswick

Government of Canada supports the Association francophone des parents du Nouveau-Brunswick


DIEPPE, NEW BRUNSWICK--(Marketwired - April 28, 2015) - Department of Canadian Heritage

Robert Goguen, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Justice and Member of Parliament (Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe), today announced $190,000 in funding for the Association francophone des parents du Nouveau-Brunswick (AFPNB). He made this announcement on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

This multi-year funding ($95,000 per year) will support the AFPNB's 2015-16 and 2016-17 programming. Over the next two years, the organization intends to develop and circulate awareness materials on choosing schools for exogamous families, produce and distribute the magazine InfoParents throughout New Brunswick, host activities for Francophone parents in the province, and manage support networks for Charter rights-holders and others. The funding is being provided through the Development of Official-Language Communities Program.
