Strong Voice for Healthy Aging Joins Wall Street Journal Online Experts Panel

BOISE, ID--(Marketwired - May 1, 2013) -  Retirement conjures images of spending time with family, travel, leisure, and playing with the grandkids. However, there may be unanticipated issues for which retirees are unprepared. The Wall Street Journal has launched an online expert panel to help address questions about retirement and has tapped Molly Mettler, Healthwise senior vice president of mission, to participate.

"The Experts: Retirement" occurs monthly in The Wall Street Journal online edition and asks a panel of experts to provide perspective on issues related to retirement. Mettler has written on a number of topics, including bucket lists, clashing after retirement, and how to keep from getting bored.

"Retirement often brings new challenges: physical, mental, emotional, social, and financial," said Mettler. "I care a lot about how we age and how we can each experience positive aging. The Wall Street Journal expert panel provides an opportunity to write about healthy aging, and to help connect readers with good resources for their well-being. Plus, it's a lot of fun."

Mettler has over thirty years of experience in health care and healthy living in later years. She has written four books, including Healthwise® for Life, now in its seventh edition with more than four million copies in distribution. Mettler is also the past chair of the National Council on Aging. Mettler is featured with five other panelists, including game show host icon Pat Sajak, actress Morgan Fairchild, and director of MIT's AgeLab, Joseph Coughlin.
