Strongbow Acquires the Chu Chua Base Metal Prospect, British Columbia

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - March 28, 2006) - Strongbow Exploration Inc. (TSX VENTURE:SBW) is pleased to announce it has acquired a 100% interest in the Chu Chua base metal massive sulphide prospect located approximately 80 km north of Kamloops in south central British Columbia. Strongbow staked 280 ha of mineral claims over the prospect after the claims owned by the previous operator were allowed to lapse.

The Chu Chua massive sulphide prospect was discovered in the late 1970's by Craigmont Mines Limited and saw intermittent exploration activity through to the early 1990's. The most recent exploration of the property was completed over several years by Minnova Inc. and included ground based geophysical surveys and over 7,500 metres of diamond drilling. Base metal mineralization at Chu Chua is hosted within a north striking, steeply westward dipping succession of basaltic rocks and consists of two major and several minor stratiform massive sulphide lenses. Sulphide minerals consist predominantly of pyrite and chalcopyrite, with minor amounts of sphalerite. A number of "resource", "reserve" and "mineral inventory" estimates have been reported for the Chu Chua prospect over the years. All of these estimates predate NI 43-101 and Strongbow does not presently have access to the original reports documenting the estimates, nor to the information used in their determination. The most commonly reported grade and tonnage for the Chu Chua prospect is the 1992-1993 Canadian Mines Handbook report of an "open pit reserve" of 1,043,154 tonnes grading 2.98% Cu, 10.20 g/t Ag, 0.54 g/t Au, and 0.3% Zn. This historical "reserve" is provided here for information purposes only and should not be relied upon. A qualified person has not classified this historical "reserve" as a current mineral resource or reserve and Strongbow is not treating this estimate as such.

Exploration plans for the Chu Chua property include a compilation and evaluation of available exploration and geological information followed by a summer 2006 field program. Exploration of the Chu Chua property is conducted under the supervision of David Gale, P.Geo. (BC), Vice-President of Exploration for Strongbow and a qualified person under NI 43-101.
