Strongbow Commissions Airborne Surveys at the Snowbird Nickel Project, Canada

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - May 2, 2007) - Strongbow Exploration Inc. (TSX VENTURE:SBW) is pleased to announce it has commissioned 4,400 line km of airborne time-domain electromagnetic (MEGATEM) surveys at its 100% owned Snowbird Nickel project in northern Saskatchewan and southern Northwest Territories. A total of seven survey blocks will be flown within the project area, each having been identified and ranked on the basis of proximity to known sulphide nickel showings and the presence of mafic and ultramafic intrusions and/or anomalous lake sediment geochemistry. The surveys are to be conducted using the same instrumentation as the survey flown at Strongbow's Nickel King property in September 2006. An exploration drilling program is currently underway at Nickel King to test a number of target areas identified by the earlier airborne survey.

The Snowbird Nickel project consists of approximately 1.2 million acres of mineral claims and permits located along a 240 km strike length of the Snowbird Tectonic Zone (SBTZ). The SBTZ is a major crustal scale structure that represents an underexplored region prospective for sulphide nickel deposits. This northeast trending structure can be traced for over 2,800 km from the Rocky Mountains to Hudson Bay. There is evidence from regional geological and geophysical datasets that, in the area of Strongbow's properties, the SBTZ has been intruded by numerous mafic-ultramafic rocks. These intrusions are known to host nickel-copper sulphide mineralization, including the mineralized zones currently being drilled at the Nickel King property.

The airborne geophysical surveys are part of a $1 million regional exploration program designed to test the nickel potential of the SBTZ outside of the area of the Nickel King property. The geophysical anomalies identified by these surveys will be evaluated during the 2007 summer field season. Strongbow's 2007 exploration programs are conducted under the supervision of David Gale, P.Geo.(BC), Vice-President of Exploration for Strongbow and a qualified person under NI 43-101.
