Strongbow Exploration Inc.: Drilling Underway at the Nickel King Project, NWT

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Aug. 28, 2007) - Strongbow Exploration Inc. (TSX VENTURE:SBW) is pleased to announce that the second drill hole of a planned 2,200 m drilling program has been completed and ground geophysical surveys are underway at its 100% owned Nickel King project located in southeastern Northwest Territories, approximately 30 km north of the Saskatchewan border.

The first two drill holes of the current program (NK07-11 and NK07-12) are intended to further evaluate the Main Zone nickel prospect. The holes test targets identified by downhole geophysical surveys completed during the spring of 2007 on drill holes NK07-02 and NK07-01 which respectively returned 53.75 m grading 0.49% Ni and 29.4 m grading 0.47% Ni (Please see Strongbow News Release #07-15, May 31, 2007 for full results of the spring 2007 drilling program). The Main Zone was discovered by Inco in the 1950's when sulphide nickel mineralization was encountered within two south dipping arcuate gabbro sills over a strike length of approximately 800 m. Subsequent drilling by Aber Resources in 1995 and Strongbow earlier this year has extended the Main Zone a further 800 m to the southwest, bringing the total strike length of the prospect to approximately 1,600 m. Mineralized portions of the gabbro sills typically contain from 5 to 15% sulphide minerals (pyrrhotite with minor pentlandite and chalcopyrite), occasionally reaching 30% over short intervals. The purpose of testing the downhole geophysical anomalies is to target areas of higher conductance which are interpreted to reflect greater sulphide contents and nickel grades. At least one more drill hole is planned to test the eastern extension of the Main Zone with the remainder of the drill program designed to test exploration targets generated by ongoing ground geophysical surveys of the Koona, Ring and Kizan targets. Airborne geophysical (MegaTem) anomalies and gabbro outcrops similar in appearance to the gabbro hosting mineralization at the Main Zone have been mapped at each of these three target areas. The Nickel King exploration program is scheduled to continue through to the end of September 2007.

Strongbow also reports that exploration activities continue at the Skoonka Creek and Ponderosa gold properties in southwestern British Columbia with drilling programs scheduled for the Fall of 2007. Mobilization for the Skoonka Creek drilling program is set to commence later this week with drilling to start during the first week of September. Strongbow's 2007 exploration programs are conducted under the supervision of David Gale, P.Geo. (BC), Vice-President of Exploration for Strongbow and a qualified person under NI 43-101.
