Strongbow Starts Exploration at Skoonka Creek and Other Spences Bridge Gold Belt Properties, British Columbia

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - June 7, 2007) - Strongbow Exploration Inc. (TSX VENTURE:SBW) is pleased to announce it has commenced summer exploration programs at its gold properties in the Spences Bridge gold belt (SBGB) in southwestern British Columbia, including a two phase exploration program at the 10,000 ha, Skoonka Creek property. Phase one exploration will continue through to the end of August and include detailed airborne magnetic and radiometric surveys as well as bedrock mapping and soil geochemical surveys, trenching and ground geophysics. This work will focus on advancing the recently discovered Backburn, Deadwood, Ember and Zebra epithermal gold targets to the drill ready stage in advance of a Phase 2 drilling program scheduled for September and October, 2007. Portions on the Skoonka Creek mineral claims that have not been previously examined will also be evaluated utilizing techniques and concepts developed over the last two field seasons. The Skoonka Creek project is currently owned by joint venture partners Strongbow, which owns a 51% interest and is the operator, and Almaden Minerals Ltd. (TSX:AMM)(AMEX:AAU). Almaden has elected not to contribute its share of the 2007 exploration budget of approximately $2.3 million. Strongbow has elected to solely fund the program and as a result its ownership interest will increase to approximately 65%. A recently completed 43-101 technical report on the Skoonka Creek property is available for viewing at

A $500,000 exploration program is also underway at Strongbow's 100% owned properties located elsewhere in the SBGB. The properties encompass approximately 60,000 ha in seven contiguous claim groups along a 100 km strike length of prospective geology within the Spences Bridge volcanic belt. Initial exploration programs have already been completed at the LP and Shovelnose properties. Detailed soil sampling and prospecting was completed in the vicinity of several high priority soil geochemical anomalies located on the LP property and approximately 1,200 soil samples have been collected from the Shovelnose property. The Shovelnose soil grid is intended to further evaluate the Tower and Brookmere showings, where extensive zones of bedrock alteration typical of low sulphidation epithermal environments have been identified. Airborne magnetic and radiometric surveys are also planned to cover priority areas of the LP and Shovelnose properties. Additional exploration priorities for 2007 include following up encouraging 2006 results from the Southern Belle and Goldpan properties, including detailed soil and bedrock geochemical surveys, mapping and trenching. Pending receipt of the appropriate exploration permits a fall drilling program is planned to test the most promising targets derived from the summer program.

Strongbow's 2007 exploration programs are conducted under the supervision of David Gale, P.Geo.(BC), Vice-President of Exploration for Strongbow and a qualified person under NI 43-101.
