StrongMail Systems Expands Customer Roster by 133% in 2007

Strategic New Customers, Including Commerce Bancorp, Turner Broadcasting Systems and Coldwater Creek, Drive Aggressive Growth in Financial Services, Media/Entertainment and Retail Verticals

REDWOOD CITY, CA--(Marketwire - January 28, 2008) - StrongMail Systems, Inc., the leading provider of on-premise solutions for marketing and transactional email, today announced 133 percent customer growth in 2007. The rapid growth of StrongMail's customer roster over the past year was largely due to solid sales momentum with large- and medium-size organizations across the financial services, media/entertainment and retail vertical industries.

Three Fortune 1000 financial services companies, including Commerce Bancorp, chose StrongMail in 2007 to centralize their outbound customer email and take control of this critical communication channel for improved security, reliability and management. By enabling financial organizations to retain their email in-house, StrongMail eliminates the security vulnerabilities inherent with transferring and replicating customer data with an outsourced email server provider. In addition to addressing security concerns, StrongMail's comprehensive email platform provides the advanced functionality and performance required to deliver relevant and effective communications to customers and prospects.

StrongMail also attracted a large number of retailers in 2007, including Coldwater Creek, eToys and Olympia Sports. By allowing retailers to maintain their customer email in-house, StrongMail offers a scaleable and cost-effective option for delivering marketing and transactional messages quickly and reliably. Equally important, StrongMail easily integrates with customer data sources to enable retailers to send customized messages based on customer preferences and past buying behavior.

"As eToys expanded with the BabyUniverse acquisition, we knew we needed a centralized solution like StrongMail to coordinate our marketing efforts and send more sophisticated campaigns," said Gary Lindsey, vice president of marketing for The Parent Company, which owns eToys and BabyUniverse. "StrongMail's powerful in-house email platform gives us the flexibility and control we require to fully leverage our marketing database, efficiently manage our email campaigns and optimize our delivery performance. This has resulted in more timely, relevant and targeted emails to our customers and prospects."

Turner Broadcasting System, The Knot, the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), and other high-profile media, publishing and entertainment companies joined StrongMail's customer roster in record number during the past year. By offering centralized management and role-based publishing controls, StrongMail enables large media companies to extend email capabilities across multiple divisions and properties.

"2007 was a banner year for StrongMail that was fueled by a growing market awareness of the inherent practical and economical benefits of an in-house solution for marketing and transactional email," said Sam Cece, CEO of StrongMail Systems. "As the only email technology company that enables its customers to centralize all promotional and event-triggered email on a single, complete high-performance platform, StrongMail is poised for continued aggressive growth in the years ahead."
