VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - May 8, 2014) - Strutta.com Media Inc. ("Strutta"), a leader in social media promotions and a portfolio company of LX Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE:LXV) is pleased to have powered a highly successful video contest for the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation. The contest was designed to raise awareness and funds to support research and promote healthcare excellence at Sainte-Justine, Canada's largest mother-child university hospital centre.
As part of their Healing More Better campaign, the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation launched a social promotion on January 16, 2014 and invited choirs to take part in the Sing for Sainte-Justine with Céline Dion contest. 174 choirs from across Quebec, Ontario and New Brunswick responded to the call and performed, recorded and uploaded a video singing a short excerpt of one of Céline Dion's songs for a chance to sing at a private event with Céline Dion. In just 3 months, the promotion and participation from the community raised a total of $827,065 for the cause and exceeded CHU Sainte-Justine's expectations.
"Working with Strutta, we were able to build a website that met the program's requirements, in a very short lead time. This was an essential component to the success of our campaign, helping us capture the attention and participation of 5000 talented singers, engage the community and raise funds for our cause," said Ingrid Button, Vice President of Annual Campaigns and Sponsorships at CHU Sainte-Justine.
Using Strutta's powerful social promotions platform, CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation was able to launch a fully branded, bilingual video contest site that included a round of community voting and a panel of high profile judges. In addition, Strutta's crowd funding application made it easy for the community to donate money when they cast their vote for their favorite choir and automatically issued a tax receipt to each voter via email.
With 18,027 votes, the elementary school choir, Chorale de l'Externat Mont-Jésus-Marie, from Montreal was chosen as the community favorite and the expert judges selected Les Petits Chanteurs de Laval as their top choice based on the quality of their vocal performance and stage presence. The two winning choirs will have the opportunity to share the stage and sing a song with Céline Dion at a private event this July.
"We are incredibly honoured that Saint-Justine chose Strutta as their social promotions partner for this amazing contest," said Mike Edwards CEO of LX Ventures. "Their success serves as a shining example of how a well executed social campaign can help companies and non-profits raise awareness as well as funds for the things that matter most to them."
The winning videos can be seen by visiting the Sing for Sainte-Justine Contest site.
