Student Enrollment up 3.8% at St. Lawrence College

BROCKVILLE, CORNWALL, and KINGSTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 4, 2012) - Enrollment at St. Lawrence College remains steady across all three campuses in Brockville, Cornwall, and Kingston, with a 3.8% overall increase from 2011. Enrollment at the College has grown 9.6% since 2010.

"We have seen strong enrollment increases in many programs, including Hotel and Restaurant Management, Fine Arts, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Social Services Worker, and several of our business programs," said Rick Anderson, Interim Vice President, Advancement, Student & External Affairs. "Our most popular programs continue to be in the areas of Health Sciences, Community Services, and Justice Studies and Applied Arts."

Current total enrollment for the College is more than 6,600 full-time students. The College will also welcome international students from over 40 countries studying in a wide array of programs.

"St. Lawrence College provides students with the education and in-demand skills training they need to prepare for successful careers," Anderson said. "87.9 per cent of our recent graduates found work within six months of graduation, according to the latest Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data. We continue to be at the top of the province."

St. Lawrence College received straight A's in all other KPIs:

Employer Satisfaction: 92.3%

Graduate Satisfaction: 81.3%

Student Satisfaction: 81.1%
