NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Feb 29, 2012) - On October 13, 2011, in a news release entitled "Hispanic High School and College Enrollment Spikes and Students Connecting Launches Student Tutoring Platform", Students Connecting highlighted the increase in Hispanic student college enrollment in the United States. Richard Fry, Senior Research Associate with Pew Hispanic Center, reported a surge of 24% in Hispanic student college enrollment, and according to the report published on, in a single-year the number of 18- to 24-year-olds attending college in the United States hit an all-time high of 12.2 million in October 2010.

Although these figures are encouraging, it is important that we can, collectively, use this success as a stepping stone and build upon it. Students Connecting concurs with the Lumina Foundation for Education, sharing in their vision to expand success in Education beyond High School, among adults, first-generation Hispanics, all Minority College students, and low-income students.

Students Connecting is committed to building a multicultural community where students can provide tutoring services to students seeking tutoring services in the languages, subject areas, and at the academic levels of their choice. Students Connecting believes that America's economic future is strongly tied to ensuring that a significantly higher percentage of Hispanics and Minorities graduate from College. As Lawrence Schwartz, Vice-President of Students Connecting, stated, "Our vision is aligned with the mission of Lumina Foundation for Education; we both strive to empower students to reach their highest academic potential and we are strongly committed to closing the gap between college enrollment and college graduation rates for all groups of students."

Recognizing the need for a private tutor is a student's first step in receiving academic support. In addition, students feel comfortable working with student tutors who can relate to their unique cultural and academic challenges. Students Connecting offers an interactive platform and innovative tools to provide student tutors with the opportunities to share their skills, experience and success, as they earn money while helping students achieve their goals.
