Study: Netformx's DesignXpert Improves Cisco UCS Solution Sales Efficiency by 76% at ePlus

Network Design Automation Software Ensures Proposal and Configuration Accuracy, and Unifies Sales Efforts for Technology Reseller

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - September 2, 2010) -  Netformx, a global leader in telecom network design and proposal generation platforms, today announced the results of a study conducted by JPW Consulting. Customer ePlus reduced the time required to develop solutions involving Cisco's Unified Computing System (UCS) product line by 76% with DesignXpert. In addition to time efficiencies, Netformx's network design automation software was found to have ensured more accurate sales quotes and technology configurations, streamlined the sales cycle, increased personnel satisfaction, and opened up new UCS sales opportunities for ePlus.

Key Facts

  • Previously, ePlus' sales engineers and solution architects were using multiple tools and their own processes when fulfilling sales; this resulted in inconsistent approaches to proposals and solution design errors. When Cisco required its channel partners to use DesignXpert to resell the UCS product line, ePlus was able to implement a standard procedure and eliminate manual efforts.
  • The JPW Consulting study looked at the impact of ePlus' use of DesignXpert compared to its legacy system. With Netformx's network design automation software, the technology reseller achieved the following key business results:
    • Reduced the time required to develop a solution by 76%
    • Decreased Opportunity to Quote times by 66-75%
    • Reduced redesigns by 67%
    • Decreased the amount of manual design effort from 68% to less than 20%
    • Implemented and updated sales pipeline standards for staff

  • ePlus also made clear why it's continuing to adopt DesignXpert across its sales personnel; the study found that there was a more than 100% increase in overall system satisfaction. Users rated it a 4.5 out of 5 in meeting or exceeding expectations, including a 5 out of 5 rating when it comes to the ability to update a design.

Supporting Quotes

  • "In the nearly three years that we've used DesignXpert, ePlus has been able to eliminate translation and validation errors and significantly increase productivity with the automated tool. It has even improved morale a great deal," said Mike Pierce, vice president, ePlus. "Netformx's solution has been critical in enabling us to resell Cisco's UCS product line, stay up-to-date on changes to the vendor's technology offerings, and more efficiently and effectively engage with our customers."

  • "Netformx is pleased to see that the rollout of DesignXpert has been successful for ePlus, as well as Cisco," said Ittai Bareket, CEO, Netformx. "We strive to address our customers' network design and proposal generation challenges, and take pride in helping them reduce the opportunity to quote time while eliminating manual efforts and associated costs."
