Study Reveals Best Practices for Family Offices Engaging in Impactful Philanthropy

DENVER, CO--(Marketwired - Jun 2, 2015) - A new report jointly sponsored by the U.S.-based philanthropic advisory firm Hammer & Associates and The Global Family Office Community in London found that family offices worldwide have a need for more information, resources and qualified advisory services that can help their families engage in meaningful and impactful philanthropy.

This report, written by Suzanne Hammer of Hammer & Associates, is the first global study to research philanthropy in family offices worldwide, and is being launched today at The Global Family Office Conference in London, attended by family office professionals around the world.

"Philanthropy around the world varies dramatically in terms of infrastructure, culture, geographic focus and government policies," says Suzanne Hammer, President of Hammer & Associates. "However families the world over share common concerns and desires related to what it means to be a family of wealth. One of these is the desire and need to train the next generation of family leaders to manage the family wealth, and philanthropy -- in any culture, nation or location -- is an effective way to do that."

Report findings are based on in-depth interviews with family offices, high-net-worth individuals and philanthropy advisors in countries from seven world regions. In addition to highlighting philanthropy trends in different regions, the report offers best practices and ideas for how family offices can engage in philanthropy effectively.

"This report will help families take the first steps to engage in thoughtful philanthropy -- for the good of their families and for the good of the world. We hope this information sparks a new avenue of education within family offices, one that is useful across borders and cultures," said Hammer.
