StudyBlue Launches First-Ever Dynamic Study Guide Just in Time for Finals

One Package, Saving Students Time, and Stress

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Nov 21, 2013) - StudyBlue, the leading mobile learning platform, is providing students an easier and smarter way to prepare for finals this year by launching StudyBlue Study Guides. StudyBlue brings together more than four million students worldwide and more than 175 million pieces of crowdsourced study materials, the largest collection of learner-generated content.

"People learn best when they study together, but unfortunately most students do nearly 80 percent of their studying in isolation. Our vision is to help students study smarter by learning from their peers using the devices they live on and love. We know that mobile can unite the power of crowdsourced learning like nothing has to date and help students achieve better outcomes in and out of class," said StudyBlue CEO Becky Splitt. "The beauty of Study Guides is that it's both a time-saver and a smarter way to study -- we create a specific set of note cards for you based on the collective wisdom of your classmates."

Saving students the time and the hassle of collecting their individualized notes and finding others to help fill the gaps, Study Guides offers one organized package of notes curated by fellow students for a specific class. As students add notes during the semester, they are automatically added to the class Study Guide, in the order the material was taught.

StudyBlue Study Guides are unique and differentiated from traditional guides in that they:

  • Automatically evolve throughout the semester, updating as each classmate adds new material;
  • Draw on content generated by fellow students going through a similar learning experience;
  • Provide multiple points of view, enabling students to process the information using the explanations that make the most sense to them.

Students using a Study Guide will receive a push notification on their device getting instant access to the best information throughout the semester. They can then review the notes, take practice quizzes and track their progress, providing a more iterative studying experience as they prepare for the big exam at the end of the term.

Study Guides launch this week and are available for classes with more than three students and at least twenty cards. Each guide is $4.99 and will be available online and on the free iOS app Thursday, November 21. The Android version will be available in early 2014.
