SUB GIANTS, MATT BONNER AND MR.SUB, TEAM UP FOR CHARITY

EDITOR'S NOTE: Picture to accompany this release is available on the CP Picture Service from The Canadian Press; 28 days, 28 subs, $4,000 to the Toronto Kiwanis Boys and Girls Clubs Attention: Assignment Editor, City Editor, Lifestyle Editor, Photo Editor, Sports Editor TORONTO--(CCNMatthews - March 14, 2005) - Commonly referred to as Mr. Sub and the Red Rocket, Matt Bonner, Toronto's favourite new Raptor, is raising money for his favourite charity by eating his favourite food: MR.SUB's smoked turkey breast sub on whole wheat.

Dubbed Mr. Sub because he's a substitute player and because he eats a MR.SUB sandwich every day when he's in town, the relationship between the two sub giants is a natural fit.

The 'Challenge'

As of the challenge date, March 9th, there were 43 days left of regular basketball season. Of those, Matt's in town for 28 days.

Staying true to his daily Toronto routine, Matt will dine on MR.SUB each of the 28 days, feasting on his fave sub sandwich, as well as freshly baked cookies. While Matt is most often found dining at the MR.SUB at Union Station, fans will find him indulging his appetite at various MR.SUB locations over the next few months.

On behalf of Matt, MR.SUB will donate $4,000.00 to the Toronto Kiwanis Boys and Girls Clubs at the end of April.

"This is a win-win situation for everyone, especially for all the Matt Bonner fans in the Greater Toronto Area," said Jack Levinson, CEO, Mr. Submarine Ltd. "Matt's an exciting addition to the Raptors. He injects enthusiasm into the game and the crowd. MR.SUB is excited because this initiative will give fans of all ages the opportunity to have face time with Matt, who is one of the most approachable, down-to earth sports guys you could meet."

"I am thrilled to be a part of this initiative because it combines several of my passions. As a former member of the Boys and Girls Clubs, I know the importance the organization plays in kids lives, so I really want to offer my support where I can," said Matt Bonner. "And, the fact that I can raise money for the Club by doing what is natural to my routine, eating a MR.SUB sandwich daily, is sweet. And, I greatly look forward to meeting even more Raptor fans."
