Submission Deadline Coming Up for the Invented in Utah 2010 Inventor Challenge

More Than $50,000 Up for Grabs in the Inventor Challenge

SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwire - September 1, 2010) -  Invented in Utah (, a non-profit organization that facilitates a competition focused on helping inventors take their inventions from ideas to reality, today announced the deadline to submit invention ideas will be September 7 for an entry fee of $20. Late entries will be accepted through Sept. 10 with an additional $5 late fee.

The Invented in Utah 2010 kicked off over the weekend with a successful Inventor Symposium where inventors from across the state gathered to hear from other entrepreneurial experts and enjoyed a "Lunch with Lawyers." Attendees took advantage of asking attorneys questions about the patenting process and other legal challenges that come along with inventing new products.

The following outlines some of the resources and details about the Inventor Challenge:

  • More than $50,000 in awards and services for winning entries!
  • Mentoring and consulting with professionals in the industry.
  • Connections with some of Utah's top organizations in design, development, engineering, manufacturing, IP law, funding, and more.
  • Regular submissions at $20 close Sept. 7th.
  • Up to 5 submissions with a single fee.
  • Late entries (with $5 late fee) accepted until Sept. 10th
  • Entrant must live in Utah.
  • Invention must have generated no prior retail sale.
  • Software inventions are accepted at this year's competition.
  • Must be at least 18 years old to enter.
