Subsentio Launches Stratus Cloud-Based CALEA Compliance at INDATEL

Cost-Effective Stratus Supports CALEA Compliance Needs of Independent Telecoms -- Large Regional Service Provider Is First to Deploy Stratus

DENVER, CO--(Marketwired - Jun 11, 2014) - At the INDATEL 8th Annual Summer Symposium, held this week in Nashville, Subsentio introduced Stratus, the lawful intercept industry's first cloud-based service providing an economical alternative for meeting compliance requirements of the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA).

Subsentio's first Stratus customer is a leading regional telecommunications provider serving independent local exchange operators. As a member of INDATEL, a national organization of fiber optic wholesale carriers serving more than 500 smaller rural local exchange operators, the customer is representative of the companies that can now use Stratus to benefit from the power of Subsentio's trusted third party CALEA solution via the economy of the cloud.

"With Stratus, the long-sought goal of cost-effective, full-fledged CALEA support on demand is a reality," said Steve Bock, President of Subsentio. "Stratus sets the bar and the new business model for affordable, hosted CALEA compliance among hundreds of telcos across thousands of U.S. communities."

The technical centerpiece of Stratus is the Subsentio Safe Harbor Probe. Now installed in an INDATEL member's data center, a single Probe connects to six rural telephone companies using secure virtual private network (VPN) lines. On receipt of a court order, Subsentio can now quickly activate the system to implement a lawful intercept for each individual telephone company, as needed. Stratus ensures CALEA compliance on-demand at a significant savings versus investment in specialized network hardware and support staff at each telco location.

About Stratus

As the lawful intercept industry's first cloud-based hosted solution, Stratus provides cost-effective CALEA compliance for Internet access, VoIP and LTE providers. Stratus works out of the box, not requiring investment in a separate mediation device, VPN appliance or other equipment. For most configurations, a single Safe Harbor Probe supports multiple downstream networks.
