The Subways Sign to Sire Records in the US; Set to Appear on 'The OC'; US Tour and Album Release Confirmed

BURBANK, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 13, 2005 -- The UK's most exciting new band, THE SUBWAYS, has signed to Sire/Warner Bros. Records in the US and will be introduced to American audiences via the wildly popular TV phenomenon, "The OC." Hand-picked to appear by the show's producers, the band will perform their UK hit single and US lead track, "Rock & Roll Queen," live at the Bait Shop. Airdate is scheduled for November 17, 2005. Check local listings for details. The track will also appear on the latest soundtrack installment, "Music From The OC: Mix 5," set for release November 8, 2005, on Warner Bros. Records.

"The fans have been incredibly responsive to the music on the show and many of them are buying records after hearing new bands on 'The OC,'" explains album Music Supervisor, Alexandra Patsavas. The band's wide-eyed youthful energy perfectly echoes the theme of "The OC." "Rock & Roll Queen" will also become available on iTunes beginning October 18, 2005.

Following their American TV debut, the band that the UK's NME calls: "The sexiest thing to sweep rock n' roll off its feet in years" will tour the US for the first time. Dates as follows:

THE SUBWAYS' full-length debut album, "YOUNG FOR ETERNITY," will be released Stateside on Sire Records in February 2006. Produced by Ian Broudie (Echo & The Bunnymen, The Coral, The Zutons, etc.), the album features 13 original songs including their UK hit singles: "With You," "Oh Yeah," and "Rock & Roll Queen." Expect more US dates to be announced in early 2006.
