Successful Launch of New Vehicle From Oceanside, California's Popper Foods

Researchers Are Ecstatic About the Way It Has Performed

OCEANSIDE, CA--(Marketwire - November 10, 2010) - Popper Foods LLC announced today that they successfully tested a new version of their cylindrical delivery vehicle yesterday. Prior versions were launched last year and company researchers continue to perfect the device as one that can be used by future crews destined for the International Space Station. It was not specifically designed for low gravity environments but it has been suggested as a good alternative for space travel. The company has submitted a proposal to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

"When people see photos of it against the background of the sky, it is difficult to gain perspective as to the size of the delivery vehicle and it is often mistaken for a large rocket or missile, but in fact it is much smaller," a spokesperson for the company said. "I think what confuses people is the carbon dioxide trail that can be seen with our delivery vehicle, but in fact it is quite common for us to use a tremendous amount of dry ice for cooling when testing our device in remote locations, so the vapors are often visible at launch sites."
