Sudbury Starts Dip in April

GREATER SUDBURY, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 9, 2011) - According to preliminary data released today by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), 19 single-detached homes started in April in the Greater Sudbury metropolitan area. Together with the first quarter activity, 34 single detached units have broken ground, 44 per cent lower than the same four month period last year.

"Single detached starts were four units off the ten year average in April and thus, continue to trail last year's pace," noted Warren Philp, Northern Ontario Market Analyst with CMHC.
