Sui GENERIS Opens New Men's Store on Market Street, Doubles Their Size

Moving to 2231 Market Street Allows Expanded Selection of Second-Hand and New Designer Consignment; Addition of a Women's Boutique and Furniture

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - February 11, 2011) -  Sui GENERIS today announced that February 12, 2011 will mark the grand opening of its new men's store at 2231 Market Street, moving just down the block from its previous location in the heart of the Castro. The former location at 2265 Market Street will become a new Sui GENERIS boutique devoted solely to women. Sui GENERIS offers a unique shopping experience with quality designer consignment and vintage, as well as new fashion. Through their strong relationships with renowned designers, fashion sales associates, clients, and consigners in downtown San Francisco's Union Square shopping district they continually acquire excellent second-hand designer fashion and accessories. The 1600 square foot store nearly doubles the size and selection of menswear, and also includes a new formalwear section and a private consigners area. The idea is to spread out the merchandise they already have on the floor, showcase some of the great pieces between the racks, and comfortably add a few hundred more pieces.

Sui GENERIS is also expanding into the home, with the introduction of consigned furniture provided by Robollo Home. Hand-selected pieces will reflect Sui GENERIS style and its clients' tastes, allowing customers to extend their unique style from their closet into their living space.

The new store's interior design will continue to mirror the current baroque style that Sui GENERIS is known for. Building on the grey and black palette allows the clothes to dominate the space and the walls to recede. With the help of interior designer Richard Westbrook, the space has been optimized for visual and merchandising impact. Even more unique pieces will be on display with the additional merchandising space, benefiting clients and customers alike.

"We are incredibly excited to expand Sui GENERIS, while also keeping our roots deeply planted within the Castro and on Market Street," said Gabriel Yanez, co-owner, Sui GENERIS. "It's thrilling to finally showcase more of the great fashion that just wouldn't fit on the racks, and offer an even wider array of new fashion and the quality, hard-to-find consignment and vintage that makes our store renowned in San Francisco."
