Sulliden Announces Senior Management Appointments

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 12, 2006) - Sulliden Exploration Inc. ("Sulliden or the Company") (TSX:SUE) is pleased to announce that Javier Fernandez-Concha has been appointed President for operations of its wholly-owned Peruvian subsidiary, Minera Sulliden Shahuindo SAC. Peru. Mr. Concha has been involved with Sulliden for the past 3 years as one of its lead lawyers in Peru. Mr. Concha is educated at the Pontificial Catholic University of Peru graduating with a masters degree in Jurisdictional Politics. He has a varied background in law and business. Mr. Trottier stated that "we are very pleased to have a person of Javier's stature and ability leading our efforts in Peru on a full time basis at this important period for the Company".

The Company also announces that following its annual general meeting of shareholders, Messrs. Trottier, Coleman, Perrault, Harris, Kearney, Rathe and Rondeau were re-elected directors of the Company. Mr. James H. Coleman and Mr. Jacques Trottier have been reappointed as Chairman and President & CEO, respectively.

Subsequent to the meeting, Mr. Rathe resigned as a director and officer and is now a consultant to the Company. The Company is presently in the recruiting process to fill the position of Chief Financial Officer.

Sulliden Exploration Inc. is a mineral exploration company focused on the development of its 100% interest in the Shahuindo gold-silver project located 25km north of Alto Chicama and 70km south of Yanacocha in northern Peru. The resource stands at 1.5 million ounces of gold at an average grade of 0.85 g/t Au and 35.2 million ounces of silver at an average grade of 19.83 g/t Ag, for a total gold equivalent of 2.1 million ounces of gold at gold to silver ration of 1:60. In addition, Sulliden has an option interest to acquire 66% of an adjacent 1.900 hectares known as the Vikingo concessions which brings the Company's land holdings in this exciting gold district to almost 10,000 hectares. In southern Peru, Sulliden, through a subsidiary, has entered into an option agreement to earn a 50% interest in the Torrine gold project with Aruntani SAC and affiliates.
