Sumacom Inc. Looking to Tap New Opportunities to Diversity its Activities

Government of Canada supports growth of Disraeli firm


DISRAELI, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Oct. 16, 2014) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, the Honourable Christian Paradis, Member of Parliament for Mégantic-L'Érable and Minister of International Development and La Francophonie, today announced that Sumacom Inc. has received financial support to diversify its commercial activities and increase its market share.

The assistance has been awarded in the form of a $95,000 repayable financial contribution through the Canadian Initiative for the Economic Diversification of Communities Reliant on Chrysotile.

Quick facts

  • Sumacom will use the funding to acquire equipment, including a fibre optic laser machine and a large format digital printer, with a view to better responding to client requests.

  • To maximize profitability, the firm will also manufacture sign products for construction companies.

  • The Canadian Initiative for the Economic Diversification of Communities Reliant on Chrysotile supports projects related to the economic diversification of the Des Appalaches and Des Sources RCMs that have the potential to create jobs in the short and long term.
