Summer Program Gives College Students Professional Edge

Fullbridge's Business Boot Camp Prepares Students for Career Success

CAMBRIDGE, MA--(Marketwire - Apr 9, 2012) - As the employment rate for young adults hovers near 54 percent(1), college students are learning it's never too early to start planning their future. This summer, a growing number are turning to Fullbridge (http://fullbridge.com/summer). An intensive four-week business boot camp, The Fullbridge Program helps students learn professional skills through experiential learning drawn from real-world scenarios, with guidance from proven business mentors.

Fullbridge's philosophy is proactive and non-linear, emphasizing learning by doing rather than reading, watching, or theoretical discussion. The program picks up where a traditional liberal arts education leaves off, strengthening basic business knowledge like finance and marketing, developing strategic thinking skills, building professional confidence and clarifying career goals.

Husband/wife team Candice Carpenter Olson (former iVillage CEO and Founder) and Peter Olson (former Random House Chairman and CEO) founded Fullbridge to address the missing step they'd observed after helping their seven children transition into adulthood. Said Carpenter-Olson, "Even before the economic downturn, landing a job and launching a career was a challenge -- even with a degree from a top school. We wanted to help steer aspiring young professionals through this process, complementing their liberal arts foundation with the professional edge they need to succeed on their chosen path."

Fullbridge's mission is to help students who have already achieved major academic accomplishments navigate their next big transition. Program participants are measured along three dimensions: competencies (e.g. finance); skills, (e.g. effective presenting); and behavior traits (e.g. listening intently). Armed with these capabilities and a clear, meaningful career vision, participants are prepared to navigate almost any professional situation: tough interviews, difficult bosses, job reductions, a global work environment, or dysfunctional teams. Students are transformed into professionals and equipped with the confidence and skills needed to make an immediate impact in the workplace from day one.

The Fullbridge Program is offered twice in the summer (June and July), and during the semester break in January. For more information, visit www.fullbridge.com/summer or email LaurenCapone@fullbridge.com.
