Sumo Logic Delivers Fast Time-to-Value, Powerful Business Insights to APAC Enterprises

Company's Growth in APAC Regions Includes New Marquee Customers and Channel Partners

REDWOOD CITY, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 11, 2015) - Sumo Logic, the industry's leading, secure and purpose-built cloud-based machine data analytics service, today announced that it is deepening its presence and reach in online retail, travel and media market segments and building out strategic partnerships to accelerate industry expansion into Australia and the wider Asia Pacific region.

Spark Ventures is the venture and incubation arm of Spark New Zealand, a major national communications service provider, and is focused on identifying and growing innovative digital businesses. Spark Ventures deployed Sumo Logic in 2014 to help identify and address issues in the development process more quickly and gain insights with various subscription services.

"Our digital focus at Spark Ventures makes cloud a key element in the decision-making process as we evaluate solutions," said Peter Yates, Head of Operations, Platforms and IT at Spark Ventures. "Since Sumo Logic was built in the cloud, we were able to deploy quickly and see the quick time to value Sumo Logic brings to organizations."

Interest in Sumo Logic's powerful machine data analytics platform has expanded since being introduced to the APAC region in July 2014. Sumo Logic has more than 500 customers, with over 40 customers in ANZ alone.

"When we first started talking to businesses in Australia and New Zealand a year ago, it became clear that their needs had outpaced what traditional on-premise services could offer in machine data analytics," said Stephen Cottrell, Managing Director of Asia Pacific for Sumo Logic. "With Sumo Logic, enterprises achieve a faster time-to-value as they seek ways to speed the software development and deployment process, surface business insights to inform decisions and bolster security posture."

New customers include online services firm, including Webjet, an online travel booking site. Troy Earle, Infrastructure Manager at WebJet, stated: "We found immediate impact with Sumo Logic's Log Reduce pattern matching, which reduced our mean-time-to-resolution (MTTR) by 90 percent in a matter of days."

Additional customers include: national postal service Australia Post; job recruiting site Spotjobs; communications service provider Spark Ventures, video game development firm Outsmart Games and IP telephony provider Yamo.

As Sumo Logic extends its presence in APAC, it is forging new partnerships with managed service providers and IT providers across the region, reaching enterprises in ANZ, Indonesia, Singapore, India, Taiwan and Japan.

"We looked closely at the needs of our customers in the Australian marketplace and wanted a disruptive, game-changing SaaS solution that offered a compelling alternative to the legacy vendors in the machine data analytics space," said Rick Lanman, Director at OCG Systems. "Only a true SaaS solution like Sumo Logic can deliver the faster time to value, scalability, elasticity and ease of use our customers are demanding."
