Suncor Energy named to Climate Disclosure Leadership Index

Calgary, Alberta (September 24, 2007) — Suncor's approach to climate change disclosure has received "Best in Class" honours in a report released today by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).

The CDP, a coalition of over 315 global investors with more than $41 trillion in assets, issued the report following its fifth annual survey of Financial Times 500 corporations on the issue of climate change. In the report, Suncor was included in the Climate Disclosure Leadership Index, an honour roll for global corporations addressing the challenges of climate change.

The Climate Disclosure Leadership Index consists of 68 companies that show distinction in their responses to the survey based on their awareness of the risks and opportunities of climate change, as well as the quality and effectiveness of programs put in place to reduce overall greenhouse gas emissions.
"Being named in this index reflects Suncor's efforts to talk frankly about climate change and be transparent about our climate change management strategy," said Gord Lambert, vice president of sustainable development.
