Suncor Energy named to "World's Most Ethical Companies" list by Ethisphere Magazine

Calgary, Alberta, Canada (May 10, 2007) — Suncor Energy Inc. has been named one of the World's Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere Magazine, a publication dedicated to illuminating the correlation between ethics and profit. The companies were recognized for their strong leadership in ethics and compliance, advancement of industry involvement in social and ethical issues, and positive engagement in the communities in which they operate.

"We are pleased to be recognized for our efforts to integrate ethical leadership and social responsibility into our business," says Gord Lambert, Suncor's vice president, sustainable development. "Our stakeholders expect us to conduct our business responsibly and be transparent about our activities."

Ethisphere Magazine editors chose fewer than 100 companies from several thousand organizations they analyzed over a six-month period. Companies were evaluated against a rigorous eight-step process that included reviewing codes of ethics, regulatory infractions and evaluating investments in innovation and sustainable business practices.
