Suncor Energy recognized for excellence in reporting

Calgary, Alberta (April 30, 2008) — Suncor Energy has been recognized for its efforts in sustainability reporting.

Ceres, a coalition of investors, environmental organizations and public interest groups, awarded a special commendation for Suncor's 2007 Progress Report on Climate Change. The award was announced at Ceres' annual conference in Boston today.

Suncor's 2007 climate change report marks the 10-year anniversary of the company's climate change action plan and details its progress in managing greenhouse gas emissions.

A second organization, Stratos Inc., one of Canada's leading sustainability consultancies, ranked Suncor first among seven companies in their Best Practices in Canadian Corporate Sustainability Reporting. This is Stratos' fourth review of corporate sustainability reporting in Canada.
