Suncor Energy Street Hockey Challenge helps United Way "Bring out the kid in you"


CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Sept. 29, 2011) - Suncor Energy Inc.

Come join the excitement on Friday, Sept. 30, as 24 hockey teams face off on Stephen Avenue to compete for the coveted United Way Cup at Suncor Energy's annual United Way Street Hockey Challenge. Proceeds from this year's event, themed "Bring out the kid in you", will benefit All That Kids Can Be, a United Way initiative that supports programs for children and youth in Calgary and surrounding area.

24 teams with over 140 players from Suncor Energy, United Way and other Calgary-based companies

Time: 7:30 a.m. – 7:55 a.m. Opening remarks from Ruth Ramsden-Wood and Rick George
7:55 a.m. First puck drop with Rick George and Ruth Ramsden-Wood
8 a.m. – 12 p.m. Round-robin hockey games
12:30 p.m. – 1:15 p.m. Noon hour shoot out
1:20 p.m. Remarks by Charlie Simmer
1:25 p.m. Ceremonial face-off with Charlie Simmer
1:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. Playoff hockey games
3 p.m. Presentation of the United Way Cup
