Suncor Energy to begin planned maintenance activities at Sarnia refinery

Sarnia, Ontario (August 29) - Suncor Energy Products Inc. announced today that planned maintenance activities on parts of the company's Sarnia refinery are scheduled to begin September 2.

This maintenance work is expected to take approximately six weeks and will involve approximately 600 contractors.  Suncor expects to meet all customer supply agreements during the outage.

Suncor will focus on completing the maintenance work in a safe manner, while minimizing any impacts on our neighbours and the environment. Although this maintenance work may result in an increase in flaring, noise and traffic related to Suncor's operations, necessary precautions have been taken to help ensure these disruptions are minimized.
