Sunoco working hard to meet fuel demand

Toronto, Ontario (February 23, 2007) — Suncor Energy Products Inc., which retails petroleum products to customers under the Sunoco brand, is continuing its efforts to meet the needs of our retail and wholesale customers during the current fuel supply situation in Ontario.

Suncor's refinery in Sarnia remains at full production and inventories of all products at the refinery are at normal operating levels.

Suncor has been experiencing increased demand which has put pressure on its supply infrastructure.  This has made supply to our distribution facilities, retail and cardlock sites challenging.

"We are making every effort to meet all our customer needs and we encourage customers to maintain their typical buying pattern, to assist the province in managing through this temporary situation," says Tom Ryley, President, Suncor Energy Products Inc.

Suncor has been communicating with representatives from the Ontario government to keep them informed as they continue to monitor the situation.

Suncor Energy Products Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Suncor Energy Inc., an integrated energy company. In addition to a refinery in Sarnia, Suncor Energy Products has a network of 281 Sunoco-branded retail and Fleet Fuel cardlock sites and has a 50 per cent joint venture interest in over 200 Pioneer and UPI retail sites. Suncor Energy Products Inc. manufactures, distributes and markets transportation fuels, heating oils and petrochemicals primarily in Ontario

Sunoco in Canada is separate and unrelated to Sunoco in the United States, which is owned by Sunoco, Inc. of Philadelphia. Suncor Energy (U.S.A.) Inc. is an authorized licensee of the Phillips 66® brand and marks in the state of Colorado.
