Sunridge Gold Drill Results Expand Dimensions of High-Grade Gold, Copper and Zinc Zone at Adi Nefas VMS Project, Eritrea

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 13, 2005) - Sunridge Gold Corp. (TSX VENTURE:SGC) ("Sunridge") reports assay results from the first ten diamond drill holes, NG-007-D to NG-016-D, completed to date in the 2005 drill program. These results are from the Adi Nefas Gossan gold-copper-zinc volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) occurrence, part of the Asmara Project in Eritrea. Twenty-two diamond and reverse circulation drill holes have been completed to date for a total of 3,307 metres. These results extend the vertical depth by 155 metres and horizontal dimensions by 120 metres of the high-grade gold, copper, zinc zones first discovered in drill holes NG-003-RD and NG-005-RD reported on March 16, 2005.

Based on these results and the results of the 2005 sampling work, the Company is attempting to contract a second drill rig as soon as possible.

Drill holes NG-007-D and NG-008-D were positioned to test the vertical continuity of mineralization above and below NG-005-RD which intersected supergene-style mineralization of 4.63% copper and 9.14 g/t gold over 11 metres (reported on March 16, 2005). Results from NG-007-RD showed that strong primary style gold, copper, zinc and silver mineralization extends vertically at least 35 metres beneath NG-005-RD. However, above NG-005-NG assay information from NG-008-D is considered unreliable due to poor core recovery because of cavities in the rock formed by a natural leaching process in the upper zone of mineralization between the leached zone and the supergene zones.

Drill holes NG-009-D, NG-010-D and NG-011-D were drilled to test the vertical continuity of the high-grade zinc mineralization encountered in previous drill hole NG-003-RD of 22.81% zinc, 1.50% copper, 3.94 g/t gold and 108.44 g/t silver over 8.5 metres (reported on March 16th, 2005). Drill holes NG-009-D and NG-010-D both successfully found similar high-grade primary-style zinc mineralization respectively about 20 metres below and 12 metres above NG-003-RD. Unfortunately, NG-011-RD which was drilled to test close to surface extensions to the mineralization had poor core recovery due to cavities.

Drill holes NG-012-D through NG-016-D were drilled to test the possible southern extensions of previously encountered high-grade mineralization at Adi Nefas. Drill holes NG-013-D and NG-014-D successfully extended the strike length of strong zinc and gold mineralization approximately 80 metres south of the high-grade mineralization previously reported in NG-005-RD. Again, in attempting to test the upper levels of the system NG-012-D encountered cavities and poor core recovery therefore management believes that there is a possibility that the one metre interval reported in the table could be larger. Drill holes NG-015-D and NG-016-D extended the continuity of strong zinc, gold copper and silver mineralization another 40 meters to the south.

Management of Sunridge believes that the currently defined mineralization at Adi Nefas is open to the north, at depth and possibly to the south. Drill hole NG-004-RD drilled 80 metres north of all current drilling showed no significant assays because the hole intersected the leached zone which is above the level of potential supergene or primary mineralization. Deeper drilling is planned at this location.

At least another 20 to 30 drill holes are planned to be completed at Adi Nefas over the next few weeks with the goal of extending mineralization to the north, south and depth.

As part of the 2005 program, drilling will also be conducted at the Debarwa high-grade VMS Deposit, Debarwa East and the Embra Derho VMS gossan.

1. As there is insufficient data to calculated true widths, drill intercept lengths only are reported.

2. Hole designation ending in "D" are all drilled by diamond drilling methods only. Hole designation ending in "RD" are those started with reverse-circulation and completed with diamond drilling.

3. A Quality Assurance/Quality Control program is part of the drilling program on the Asmara Project. This program includes chain of custody protocol as well as systematic submittals of standards, duplicates and blank samples into the flow of samples produced by the drilling.
