Sunridge Gold Increases Strike Length and Width of Emba Derho Zinc/Copper/Gold Mineralization

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 7, 2006) - Sunridge Gold Corp. (TSX VENTURE:SGC) is pleased to announce assay results from an additional 19 diamond drill holes, ED-052-D to ED-071-D from the Emba Derho volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposit, part of the Asmara Project, Eritrea. These latest assay results continue to increase the size of the deposit, confirming the large size potential of Emba Derho and its potential to become a large bulk-mineable zinc, gold and copper open-pit deposit. Drilling to date has intersected massive sulphide mineralization over an approximate 900 metre strike length. Two diamond drill rigs continue to operate to further test the boundaries of the deposit and conduct in-fill drilling. To date, 103 diamond drill holes have been completed at Emba Derho and additional assays will be released as available.

Drill holes ED-052-D to ED-064-D and ED-066-D and ED-O67-D were drilled to extend the mineralization to the north and northeast. Most of these holes were successful in extending the deeper copper mineralized zone approximately 150 metres to the north and northeast over a strike length of over 400 metres, within the larger Emba Derho massive sulphide mineralization. Drill hole ED-065-D successfully extended the zinc mineralization to the south in the central zone.

ED-052-D - 32.95 metres grading 2.10% Cu

ED-053-D - 94.45 metres grading 1.06% Cu

ED-054-D - 25.25 metres grading 1.51% Cu

ED-056-D - 87.00 metres grading 1.78% Zn

ED-060-D - 20.03 metres grading 3.31% Zn and 30.10 metres grading 2.34% Cu

ED-061-D - 19.32 metres grading 3.59% Cu

ED-065-D - 60.05 metres grading 3.94% Zn

Details of all significant mineralized intervals from the drill holes are as follows: O equals Oxide zone near surface, S equals Supergene copper zone, P-Zn equals Primary zinc zone, P-Cu equals Primary copper zone

Drill hole ED-063-D drilled unmineralized granite its entire length and was not sampled. Drill holes ED-068-D and ED-069-D were drilled to test an outlying gravity anomaly located about 500 metres to the east of the main mineralized zone and only hanging wall lithologies were intersected. Drill holes ED-070-D and ED-071-D were drilled to test a possible southern extension to the main gravity anomaly but were unsuccessful in intersecting significant mineralization. All other drill holes not listed in the above table showed no significant assay results.

Emba Derho is located only 6 kilometres to the west of the high-grade zinc-gold Adi Nefas VMS deposit and the Gupo Gold Deposit. The high-grade copper-gold-zinc Debarwa VMS Deposit is approximately 25 kilometres to the south. With the discovery at Emba Derho there are now four significant zones of mineralization within the Asmara Project; Debarwa, Adi Nefas, Gupo Gold and Emba Derho.

In addition to the Emba Derho drill program, a third rig continues to operate at the new Kodadu volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) prospect. Kodadu is the largest known "gossan" (surface expression of volcanogenic-massive-sulphide (VMS) mineralization) occurrence discovered to date within the Asmara Project with large outcrops occurring intermittently over a strike length of more than three kilometres and intermittently over a width of one to two kilometres. The project-wide gravity survey is ongoing as is further rock-chip and soil sampling to the west of Kodadu in the area of another extensive gossan known as Adi Lamza.

1. Drill intercept lengths only are reported as there is insufficient information to estimate true width.

2. All drill holes reported are diamond drill holes.

3. A Quality Assurance/Quality Control program is part of the drilling program on the Asmara Project. This program includes chain of custody protocol as well as systematic submittals of standards, duplicates and blank samples into the flow of samples produced by the drilling.

4. A description of the geology, sampling procedures, and the Company's laboratory Quality Assurance / Quality Control procedures are as described in the Company's National Instrument 43-101 Technical Report filed on February 17, 2004 and amended by the Amended Technical Report filed dated April 27, 2004. This report is available at

5. Samples are prepared at African Horn Testing Services (Eritrea) and analyzed at Genalysis Laboratories (a NATA registered laboratory) in Perth, Western Australia.
