Sunridge Reports Discovery of High-Grade Zinc Zone and
New Supergene Copper Zone at Adi Nefas Gossan, Asmara
Project, Eritrea

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - March 16, 2005) - Sunridge
Gold Corporation ("Sunridge") (TSX VENTURE:SGC) is pleased to announce
assay results from two very significant drill holes from the Adi Nefas
Gossan area. These are the first two of an initial six drill holes
designed to test geophysical targets on the Adi Nefas Gossan area, part
of the Asmara Project in Eritrea. One drill hole intersected higher
grade zinc values than has previously been recognized on the property. A
second drill hole intersected a previously unknown copper supergene zone
that also shows particularly high gold values. The Adi Nefas Gossan area
is one of a number of volcanogenic massive-sulphide (VMS) occurrences
within the Asmara Project and is located approximately 40 kilometres
north of the high-grade Debarwa copper-gold VMS deposit.

President Mike Hopley states, "These results confirm the existence of a
second zone of VMS-style high-grade gold, copper and zinc on the Asmara
Project. This discovery is very encouraging for the further planned
exploration of the Adi Nefas area."

Previous work at the Adi Nefas Gossan, including limited drilling by
previous operators, have shown the occurrence to be a typical VMS
deposit about 700 metres in strike length with strong zinc and gold
mineralization but relatively low copper values and therefore no
development of a high-grade copper supergene zone. Drill hole NG-003-RD
was designed to test a coincident gravity, electromagnetic and IP
geophysical anomaly and the results showed much higher levels of zinc
mineralization, up to 29.50% over 1.30 meters, than has been seen in
previous work. Drill hole NG-005-RD was located 80 metres south along
strike from NG-003-RD to test the southern extension of the geophysical
anomaly. This hole intersected the first known occurrence of supergene
copper mineralization between 48 and 59 metres with copper values up to
9.50% and gold values up to 33.28 g/t over 1 metre intervals.

Results from the remaining 4 drill holes are expected later this month.
The geophysical anomaly that was the target of this drilling is open
along strike to both the north and south. Further drilling is planned as
soon as possible.

In addition to drilling at Adi Nefas, 6 drill holes were completed by
Sunridge and Sub-Sahara at the Gupo Gold deposit, a structurally
controlled zone of lower-grade but potentially surface mineable gold
mineralization located about 1 kilometres south of Adi Nefas Gossan.

More drilling is planned at Gupo Gold to better define this near surface
gold mineralization that has been traced over approximately a 2.5
kilometres strike length.

intercept lengths only are reported.

reverse-circulation and completed with diamond drilling.

protocol as well as systematic submittals of standards, duplicates and
blank samples into the flow of samples produced by the drilling.
