Sunset Magazine Recognizes Smith Vineyard

GRASS VALLEY, CA--(Marketwire - December 20, 2010) - The December 2010 issue of Sunset Magazine recognized local Nevada County winery, Smith Vineyard, as a worthwhile place to stop for tasting wines and enjoying the area.

"The mention in such a prestigious magazine was a complete surprise as we had no idea the editor was in town until I received a call verifying facts about our wines and winery," stated Chris Smith, owner of Smith Vineyard. "Shortly after the article was printed on page 27, the phone started ringing from people out of the area that had seen us mentioned in Sunset. It's amazing how business has increased based on this article and the exposure it created for our wine and tasting room. Even today, I continue to receive emails requesting our Merlot."

Sara Schneider, writer for Sunset magazine, noted the "spanking new tasting room" in downtown Grass Valley as a place to visit when heading up the I-80 corridor on the way to or from Tahoe. Sara also noted that the slight detour off of I-80 to hwy 49 to visit the Grass Valley based winery was "worthwhile."
