Sunshine to Host First Ever Slopestyle Event

BANFF, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - April 17, 2013) - Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard resort will host the inaugural Sunshine Slopestyle Event powered by Rockstar Energy, on April 20^th and 21^st.

The new event, which will highlight some of the region's best freestyle skiers and riders, will take place in the Grizzly Terrain Park beneath the Rogers Terrain Park. The ski portion of the competition begins Saturday at 10 a.m. with snowboarding to follow on Sunday at 10 a.m.

Registration to participate in the event is $20 and will feature a youth category for men and women aged 12 to 17, and an adult category for men and women over 18. An awards ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. on the stage outside of Mad Trapper's Saloon in the heart of Sunshine Village.

The weekend will also feature live performances from local band Cronic, who are set to kick off the Sunshine Spring Concert Series. The outdoor musical offerings run every weekend leading up to the 85^th annual Slush Cup on May 20^th. Both the slopestyle event and spring concert series are accessible to all of Sunshine's on-mountain guests.
