Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort: Extended Hours Start Friday


BANFF, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - March 22, 2011) - Exceptional snow conditions have enabled Sunshine to make to spring hours a week earlier this year.

Starting Friday, Sunshine Village will provide skiers and riders an extra half-hour each day to frolic in the white. All lifts will run until 4:30 p.m. daily, except for Jack Rabbit, which will run until 5 p.m. (Gondola hours remain unchanged.)

As forecast, this La Nina year has delivered a bounty of Sunshine's world-famous champagne powder since Jan. 1. Recent snowfalls have placed the settled snow pack consistently above 200 cm, and have allowed the legendary Delirium Dive to open for eager free riding enthusiasts.

All that great snow adds value to Sunshine Spring Pass, which is on sale now. With rates starting at just $287, Sunshine fans can experience up to 65 days of unlimited riding for less than $5 a day.

The partying starts on April 30th & May 1st, which the Coors Light Cold Party. On May 7th & 8th, rising country star Adam Gregory takes the stage. Then certified country legend George Canyon follows up, with live shows on May 14th &15th. The incomparable 83rd annual Slush Cup weekend rocks through May 21st, 22nd & 23rd, featuring the reggae-inflected live sounds of New Moon. The 23rd is the big day when thousands gather to watch the brave and hardy attempt to ski across a massive pond of ice water.
