Suntron Celebrates Careers, Community at 30th Anniversary Event in Phoenix, AZ

PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwire - Nov 17, 2011) - Suntron Corporation, a leading provider of electronics manufacturing services and embedded computing solutions, announced today that it celebrated its 30th anniversary on November 10th, 2011, at its Phoenix, AZ headquarters.

Phoenix is a multi-purpose location for Suntron, encompassing a manufacturing facility, an express facility, and the company's corporate headquarters. The city has been Suntron's home since EFTC and K-Tec first merged over 12 years ago, and Suntron now employs over 200 people in the area. The event highlighted Suntron's connection to the community, honoring employees, hosting tours of the facility, and engaging local college students in the day's activities.

The event opened with a networking lunch at noon, and dignitaries and Suntron executives followed up with opening comments at 1pm. The speakers included Ed Wheeler, President and CEO of Suntron; Congressman Ben Quayle; and Glenn Hamer, President and CEO of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

"Suntron is the kind of American business that will lead our country's long-term economic recovery. The company has fought to keep manufacturing jobs in the United States despite the economic challenges facing the industry," stated Congressman Ben Quayle. "I congratulate Suntron and its employees on their 30 year anniversary and wish them great success in the future."

91 Phoenix employees with over 10 years of service were presented with awards as recognition of their commitment and contributions to the company. A raffle drawing followed with great prizes donated by Suntron's gracious suppliers, and tours of the factory commenced soon after.

The first tours were led by Tom Anderson, Plant Manager at the Phoenix facility, and Don Sawyer, the Quality Director for Phoenix. Students at local Arizona State University had their own personal tours at 2:30pm, allowing Suntron to introduce the opportunity and vitality of electronics manufacturing to a new generation. Meet and greet tours continued until 3:15pm, and an employee potluck dinner closed the day at 5pm.

"The celebration was a real success," said Todd Steele, Director of Customer Business Management at the Phoenix facility, "Whether they were discovering Suntron for the first time or commemorating a decades-long career with us, each attendee seemed to have a great time."
