PALM SPRINGS, CA--(Marketwired - Dec 10, 2013) - SunUp Solar Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce that it will be relocating to the Coachella Valley iHub's Palm Springs Accelerator Campus this month. The facility will serve as headquarters for its manufacturing and distribution of SunUp Collectors and Systems, including proprietary mounting hardware and pre-plumbed packages.
SunUp returns to manufacturing, having produced over 1 million square feet of top performing thermal solar collectors throughout the 1980's. Improvements to the new line of solar collectors include higher transmissivity glass and increased absorber efficiency.
"We are focused on increasing efficiency while reducing installation costs on commercial projects," explains SunUp CEO Rick Rothman. "That includes customized pre-packaging of valve assemblies, heat exchangers, and pump control modules. We also offer technical support and training to our customers to ensure their success in this unique industry."
The Coachella Valley iHub Accelerator Campus is a cluster of seven buildings on 3.5 acres within a Foreign Trade Zone which serves as a model of business incubation. Companies selected are nurtured in their start-up phase and supported by a network of helpful resources. The goal is launching sustainable businesses that bring innovative products to market, generate revenues, and create local jobs.
Joe Wallace, Managing Director of the CViHub said that "SunUp is a perfect fit, both from a technology and idealistic perspective, for the Accelerator Campus. They are a welcome addition to the growing family of renewable energy innovators to establish operations here."
"We are very excited about joining the Accelerator Campus," says Rothman, "and about promoting renewable technology that, not only fits with the region's economic goals, but also serves the expanding national and international market demand to heat hot water cost-effectively."
