Superior Canadian Reports Plans to Follow-Up Sampling Program on the O'Sullivan Lake Property

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Aug. 14, 2007) - Superior Canadian Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:CAD) is pleased to announce that the follow-up exploration program announced April 25th 2007 has been ongoing and diamond drill targets will be defined by late summer 2007 on both the Kowkash portion and the O'Sullivan Peninsula portion of the property.

Specifically in the Kowkash area where previous drilling during the 80's, had intersected high grade gold values, three diamond drill holes have been selected to date. These holes will evaluate the interpreted strike and width of the Kowkash mineralization.

The recent 2006 fall and 2007 ongoing summer work program has included: line cutting, prospecting and geochemical sampling. This work was following up on the recommendations of the independent consultant that reviewed all of the available geological & technical data gathered by the Company over the past four years of exploration.

Some of the highlights of previous summer's sampling and prospecting programs are also being used to select diamond drill targets. The prospecting and sampling programs were focused on sampling 10 known and 2 new showings on the property. The sampling was comprised of 86 grab samples, 9 channel samples and 18 core samples.

Highlights of the sampling included:

- A grab sample from Farley Island of a new vein (approximately 10 cm wide, traced for 2 metres) that assayed 15.75 grams gold per ton. Grab sampling of the known veins assayed trace to 5.06 grams gold per ton. A 1.0 metre channel sample across the new vein assayed 4.06 grams gold per ton.

- Additional sampling of the 1959 drill hole #10. Original results reported 10.63 grams gold over 3.3 feet. Assaying of the core left from the sample assayed 9.90 grams gold per ton over the 3.3 feet. Sampling of the next 3.7 feet (not sampled in 1959) assayed 2.91 grams gold per ton. Using the new sampling there is a section of core from hole #10 that assays 5.83 grams gold per ton over 7.0 feet.

- Copper Jim Porphyry occurrence grab sampling assayed from trace to 3.93 grams gold per ton.

- Grab samples from the quartz feldspar porphyry and quartz veins on Cryderman Peninsula ranged from 10 ppb gold to 2.48 gram gold per ton.

- Grab samples from the New Athona showing hosted within altered mafic volcanics assayed 63 ppb gold to 1.13 grams gold per ton. Chalcopyrite was reported in all samples but analysis for copper was not completed.

- A new showing called Bayhead Island assayed trace to 1.49 grams gold per ton in 4 grab samples. Further channel sampling failed to duplicate the values but additional work is planned.

All samples were delivered to Accurassay Laboratories, Thunder Bay Ontario an ISO 17025 certified laboratory for assay using standard fire assay with atomic absorption finish. Rejects and pulps of the samples are stored at the laboratory in Thunder Bay.
