Superior Copper Appoints the Honourable Ernie Eves to its Board of Directors, Grants Stock Options, and Increases Land Package in Batchawana Bay, Ontario


TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Aug. 13, 2014) - Superior Copper Corporation ("Superior Copper" or "the Company") (TSX VENTURE:SPC) is pleased to announce that it has appointed Ernie Eves to its board of directors.

Mr. Eves was a member of the Provincial Parliament of Ontario for nearly 24 years, and served in numerous legislative capacities including Minister of Finance, Deputy Premier. He later became Ontario's 23rd Premier. A lawyer by profession, Mr. Eves is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School and was called to the bar in 1972. He was appointed a Queen's Counsel in 1983. The Company also announces the grant of 500,000 options to Mr. Eves at an exercise price of $0.20 per share for a period of 5 years.

The Company is also pleased to announce that it has staked 14 claims covering 2,086 hectares or approximately 21 square kilometres ("km") adjacent to its 100% owned Superior Project in the Mamainse Point area, located approximately 85 km north of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The addition of the new claim block increases the Company's current land position to 17,874 hectares or approximately 179 square km. Please see attached map for reference.
