DORCHESTER, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 12, 2012) - Superior Propane continues to be a driving force in the fight against breast cancer. "Pinky One" - one of five pink Superior Propane delivery trucks across Canada, and one of two such trucks the company operates in Ontario - will participate in the annual Trucking for a Cure Convoy from Dorchester to Woodstock tomorrow, raising funds for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation in Ontario.
The event is an interesting and moving spectacle with trucks of all shapes and sizes decked out in pink to show support to breast cancer patients, survivors and researchers.
James Pinder, Superior's Fleet Manager for Ontario, has rallied the company's staff and suppliers to support the cause. Since setting his initial fundraising goal, he has had to raise it several times due to the tremendous response. At last count, Pinky One had raised nearly $10,000 for this event with funds still pouring in. The truck that raises the most funds wins the honour of leading the convoy.
Across Canada last year, Superior's Pink Trucks delivered nearly 18 million litres of propane. In addition to raising awareness and funds at events like Trucking for a Cure, the company contributes one-third of a cent for each litre of propane delivered by their Pink Truck program.
