SuperSonic Imagine Appoints Tom Egelund as President and Chief Executive Officer

AIX-EN-PROVENCE, FRANCE--(Marketwired - Apr 1, 2015) - SuperSonic Imagine (EURONEXT PARIS: SSI) (Euronext: SSI, FR0010526814), a company specializing in ultrasound medical imaging, today confirmed the appointment of Tom Egelund as President and Chief Executive Officer. This marks the end of the six-month transition period that was announced upon Mr. Egelund's arrival at SuperSonic Imagine as Chief Operating Officer on September 1st, 2014.

As previously communicated, Tom Egelund succeeds Jacques Souquet as President and CEO on April 1st 2015. Jacques Souquet, who founded the Company, will now transition to the post of Chief Innovation Officer and will remain a member of the Executive Committee where he will continue to be fully engaged with Supersonic Imagine, concentrating on the company's innovation strategy with a particular focus on novel ultrasound product concepts and their clinical application.

Tom Egelund has a strong track record of successfully driving growth and earnings. Before joining SuperSonic Imagine, he spent 10 years as Executive Vice President of Océ, a publicly listed company developing, manufacturing and selling printing and copying hardware and related software products, which became part of the Canon Group in 2011. In this role, he led organic growth programs as well as acquisitions and post-merger integrations. He was actively involved in all industry processes, from technology development to commercialization. A doctor by training, he has held senior executive positions in large international companies such as Philips Medical Systems where he managed the Danish Division of Philips Health Care (previously Philips Medical Systems) and was responsible for Latin America and EMEA regions with 4,500 employees and a turnover of EUR 2 billion. Mr. Egelund graduated in medicine from Aarhus University (Denmark) where he also studied marketing.
